Friends of Mud Islands

What We Do:

Friends of Mud islands are a non-profit, volunteer group established in December 1992 to assist in the care, maintenance and preservation of the then Mud Islands State Wildlife Reserve. They aim to raise public awareness of the importance and fragility of the Islands; be a voice when proposals are made that may impact on the Islands; monitor the ecological health of the Islands; and conduct activities to preserve the ecological values of the Islands. Some of the activities the Friends of Mud Islands run or assist with include control of pest plants, seagrass monitoring and snorkelling trips, water bird counts, rubbish collecting and investigating marine invertebrates.
