Barwon River EstuaryWatch Group

Barwon River Estuary Watch Group

What We Do:

The group at Barwon River conducts physical and chemical monitoring at seven different sites along the estuary and mouth condition monitoring at the estuary mouth of the Barwon River Estuary which is the largest estuary in the Corangamite region, extending for over 15 km upstream and including the Lake Connewarre RAMSAR listed wetland area. The group monitors a number of different parameters to other EstuaryWatch groups. Due to the unique nature of the Barwon Estuary and they do this on foot and via boat and canoe.
