Barham River EstuaryWatch GroupWhat We Do:The Barham River enters the sea between Apollo Bay and Marengo after meandering across a broad tidal waterway, which is an uncommon river style within the region. The Barham valley also contains several geologically significant sites. The Barham River EstuaryWatchers formed in 2008 and has been monitoring their local estuary since then on a monthly basis. They conduct mouth condition monitoring at the estuary mouth in order to understand the processes, ecology and community values of the estuary and whether they are changing over time. The group also aims to raise awareness concerning the health of the estuary, within the local community. Contact:matthew.khoury@ccma.vic.gov.au Matthew Khoury: (03) 5224 9411 Apollo Bay, VIC, 3233 |
